Who's behind A45
A one-person project trying to make climate documentation in construction something that just works.
The backstory
BR18 now requires documentation of climate impact from transport and construction site activities — A4 and A5. For most people in the industry, that means new requirements on top of an already packed schedule.
I've been on the receiving end of this. Chasing data from subcontractors, spending evenings in Excel, cross-checking numbers against tables I barely understood. It was clear there had to be a better way.
A45 is my attempt at that better way. A platform that takes the heavy lifting out of climate documentation, so people in construction can spend their time on what they're actually good at.
What drives A45
Simplicity
The regulations are complicated enough on their own. The tool shouldn't be.
Precision
BR18 is specific. The calculations need to be correct — not close, but correct.
Transparency
You should be able to see exactly how every number was calculated. From invoice to final report.

I started A45 because I was doing BR18 documentation myself and got frustrated with how manual and time-consuming it was. Spreadsheets, emails back and forth with subcontractors, tables I had to look up over and over. I figured there had to be a smarter way — and that's what I'm building.
What's coming
A45 is still new, and there's a lot that can get better. I'm working on smarter data extraction, easier collaboration between parties, and automatic data collection from suppliers. If you have ideas or feedback, I'd like to hear from you.
